It’s a sound that’s been around. That’s seen some stuff. And Sean Taylor is ready to tell you all about it. Taylor’s records reflect on his Irish roots, his love for his home city and politics (he sings about homelessness and the Grenfell disaster amongst others) without being polemic.

So pull up a chair, prop up the Green Note’s bar and prepare to hear some musical tales and songs from the road. Oh, and make mine a double.

Part blues, part folk and a whole lot of pain; Sean Taylor’s sound combines all the great late night bar records ever made — the type of late night bar where everyone has a tale to tell. Heartbreak. Sorrow. The road. And all of the poetry that world inspires. In the line of all the greats: Waits, Kerouac and Van Morrison.

Sean Taylor’s Camden show brings laconic and yearning tunes to really listen to. His lyricism can be heard in the beautiful “Biddy Mulligans”; a love letter to a bar in Kilburn High Road. Whilst his voice drips with regret on “Losing you”.

So if you’ve ever had your heartbroken, ever sobbed to a bartender about it or just plain missed someone long into the night, then – as he begs on “Biddy Mulligans” – lend Sean Taylor your ears.
